In the early hours of the morning my mom entered into eternal life. Her final day was quiet and peaceful with visits from hospice staff, and Pastor Bob. We prayed together and cried together, and took comfort in the fact that she was at peace and pain free in her final hours. May the joy of her spirit live on in all that knew and loved her.
A memorial service is tentatively planned for Saturday, May 29, 2021 at St. James Lutheran Church in Redding. We will share details as soon as they are available. The service will be live-streamed for those that live out of the area or are hesitant to gather due to COVID concerns. In lieu of flowers, Barbara has requested donations to SEACM, a nonprofit that she founded over 30 years ago, or Church World Service.

ReplyDeleteI love the pictures.
And I didn’t know about SEACM.
Thankful for the zoom link to watch the service.

Bob, Mark, and Amy: I am so sad that Barbara has passed. She will be greatly missed by so many people. She was the glue that held so much together, the foundation of SEACM, and a life force that made such a positive difference in so many lives. I will honor her life by continuing in my small way with supporting SEACM, the nonprofit she founded in 1987 with Katy Tyree. Prayers of peace and acceptance as you and your family process the grief of losing Barb. As you so well put it, “may the joy of her loving spirit continue on in the lives of all those who knew and loved her.” -Margie
