Dear friends,
We received the results of the PET scan yesterday and received some hard news. The cancer is also in my liver, which means I am now considered Stage 4. The next step will be to do a biopsy on the liver to determine the appropriate course of chemo. The oncologist still recommends 12 rounds of chemo, and no radiation. I am getting a referral to UC Davis for a second opinion, and to explore available clinical trials. While this news is hard, I feel some comfort with knowing. Now that we know what we're dealing with, we can plan a path forward.
I'm continuing to gain strength daily, and take comfort in the outpouring of love from all of you.
